The L6470HTR benefits from its unique control system, achieving true 1/128 step resolution. The digital control kernel can generate user-defined motion curves, including acceleration, deceleration, speed, or target position, and can be easily programmed through a dedicated register set. All command and data registers, including those used to set analog values (i.e. current control values, current protection trip points, dead time, PWM frequency, etc.), are sent through the standard 5 Mbit/s SPI.
A very rich set of protections (thermal protection, low bus voltage, overcurrent protection, motor stall) allows for the design of fully protected applications to meet the requirements of the most demanding motor control applications.
